Matt and Ben unbox a brand new 2011 iMac computer, which means they can make more videos! Yaaay! We think we got a pretty good handle on the unboxing genre of electronics and technology videos on YouTube, so we made sure to hit all the right notes: mentioning our sketchy camera work, showing all the details of unboxing the machine, reading the “designed by apple in california” text on the keyboard box, and just about everything else. The QuickCam Connect drivers are Windows-only. Next time check to make sure whatever you’re planning on buying is Mac-compatible. You don’t have to worry about generic things like keyboards and mice, but anything that needs to install a driver will need OS X drivers to work. Logitech has never been big on supporting non-Windows OSs. They’ve got Windows drivers for all their hardware, but no Linux drivers, and only a few half-assed attempts at OS X drivers for some of their products.
