Apple introduced its latest version of Mac Pro in 2010. It comes with the sleek and minimalist exterior design, where Apple is known of. The framework is of silver aluminum with the logo on the left and right side of the frame and a lever at the back and front of its top. At the front side is a rigid aluminum casing. At the bottom north of its front panel is a power button, headphone socket , DVD-RW drive, 2 F-Wire 800 ports , and 2 USB ports. The remaining ports are found at the back. To connect to a monitor, you will find 2 tiny DisplayPort jacks and a DVI connector. Then below are 3 additional USB ports, 2 F-Wire 800 sockets, microphone/headphone jacks, and 2 Ethernet ports. Going to the middle of the top portion is the power jack. The market price begins at ,499 but these units can be easily upgraded and you can choose from many options available at an extra charge.

There are three basic models of the Mac Pro:

The 2.8 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor – for just ,499, you can already get this unit which comes with a 3GB of SDRAM.
The 2.4 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon “Westmere” processor – this model comes with a 6GB of memory, an upgrade of the Nehalem processor for just ,499.
The 2.66GHz six-core Intel Xeon “Westmere” processor – the top end unit, it comes with a 6GB memory and is priced at ,999. A disadvantage for this unit is that it has no Blu-ray drive.

When you order online, the package includes:

1TB hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card with a 1GB of GDDR5 memory
802.11n WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity
Magic Mouse – works like a touch pad. The Mouse is sensitive to strokes and swipes wherein you can do all sorts of activities.
Spacious keyboard – it has the Chiclet-style keys rising slightly from the body of the keyboard, looking like the keyboards of Apple’s laptops. If you choose for a wireless keyboard, you just add . There are also 2 additional USB ports on both sides.
Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system (version 10.6) – it includes iLife ’09 (comprising the superb iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb, and GarageBand applications) which is a useful and highly general-purpose media-consumption and media creation suite that outweighs anything that goes with other PCs.
One year partial warranty plus 90 days of free telephone support. You can even increase your warranty for an additional two years for an extra 9.

These processors support Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading at the same time. So, with these applications available, Mac Pro can then handle 12 cores and can have 24 virtual cores operating at once.

Upgrading with Apple Mac Pro is so easy and no hassle. For large video- intensive projects, Mac Pro has 4 HD bays which allow you to upgrade it to 8TB of spinning-platter storage or to 4 512GB solid-state drives. You just have to access the side of the chassis and voila! You can upgrade your hard drive, graphics card, or the RAM. You only need to follow the instructions on the manual which comes with the package. Overall video-playback performance was solid. It displays crisp and comprehensible.

With all these features and upgrades readily available with Mac Pro, consumers does not mind if they get to pay extra. It can handle tough computer jobs and it can never be compared with any other Windows-based PC.
